  • All PECO Energy employees who need to come onto your property carry a special picture ID. Please feel free to ask to see it.

  • Regarding PECO's Customer Assistance Program.  All PECO customes enrolled in PECO's CAP program will be transferred to the new Customer Systems Rate Program (called CAP Rate).  The new CAP Rate program will bill you for the amount of energy you use and will include a discount as a CAP Rate program participant.  The switch will begin on August 1, 1998 and the change will be reflected on your September 1998 bill.  For more information please call 1-800-774-7040.

  • The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) - help for PECO Energy customers who may have difficulty paying their energy bills during the cold weather/winter. This assistance is available based on the household's income. You may also be eligible for a LIHEAP crisis grant for the restoration of terminated services or heat-related emergencies such as leaking pipes and broken furnaces. For more information you can call the PECO Energy help line at 1-800-344-3574

    • A Helping Hand - A new assistance program for low-income families.  The program is designed to help individuals and families who are having difficulty paying their water bills by providing minor plumbing repairs and conservation tips that will help lower water usage and therefore make future bills more affordable.  You can help your neighbors by contributing a small, tax deductible donation with each of your water bills to help fund A Helping Hand.  PSW will match dollar for dollar, the amount of your contribution to fund this program.  All donations received plus our match will be spent to help neighbors in your community.  To find out more contact PSW at the above noted phone number.

By the end of year 2004, SEPTA buses will be 100% accessible and that means more people with disabilities will be able to use SEPTA than ever before.   • Seniors, 65 and over, can ride free on SEPTA buses, trolleys and subways during off-peak hours. For more information, call (215) 580-7800

  • Did you know that customers using CCT Connect to get to the bus stop or train station ride CCT Connect for free? This is called "feeder service" and is available to anyone who can use regular SEPTA service, but can't get to the bus stop or train station because of their disability. The Telephone Bill - Verizon

  • Verizon-Penna now offers 3 programs to help low-income customers get or keep their residential telephone service. They are:

    1. Lifeline Service - call 1-800-640-4155

    2. the Universal Telephone Assistance Program (UTAP) - which is managed by the Salvation Army. For more information contact the Salvation Army at 1-800-771-3312. This program helps customers get or keep their basic telephone service by offering the financial assistance to partially pay the local telephone charges. Your contribution to UTAP is tax deductible.

Fans speak out! - There is a message board that talks about Philadelphia and its tv weather forecasters.  A majority of the people that post have commented on how they loved the late Jim O'Brien.  It was suggested that our local ABC station do a show that would look back on the times of Jim O'Brien.  It sounds like a good idea!  You can always call the station and voice your opinion but I think that it would be better if you wrote to the station.  Here is the address (the last time I looked) :
